Grade: Good. Alligator this dark rewards a closer look; the scales catch light unevenly across the surface, giving the black real texture instead of the flat sheen you get from calfskin. The Bearn dates back to Hermès early wallet designs, and the tab and H clasp closure has barely changed since, more a small ritual than a fastening. Silver hardware keeps the whole thing quiet, letting the material do the talking. Inside, leather lines the wallet with enough structure to hold cards and cash without adding bulk, so it sits flat in a pocket rather than fighting it. Made in France in 2008.
